First PR of 2014!

One of the greatest things I have learned in this journey is that the power of positive thinking can take you a long distance and through great trials. Though I have had some rough valleys and I am sure this year won’t be an exception-I have learned that surrounding myself with positive phrases and sayings can make the biggest difference in my daily life. I have also learned taking it to the box and leaving it there makes your days better and makes for some great fuel.

Recap: Sorry coach for hitting you in the arm I was so excited when I hit a 20# increase in my PR on my Power Cleans!! The pivitol moment for me as I built at the end was not playing it safe and going for the tad heavier plate. I picked up the 2 1/2 and looked at it and knew that I wanted to push myself and so I added the 5’s on the end before attempting. I tried to use my 8 minutes wisely by resting in between sets and using my breathing methods. I didn’t seem to get as light headed today as I had been getting the last few weeks.

Part Two was a prediction of what 14.1 might be, I got all the way through to 85# and then did just 1. I really struggled to get under the damn bar to get it up on the 85#s. At one point though I got into a really good rhythm with the movement, but as the bar got heavier I struggled to get my knees bent and get under the bar. On the 85# I almost had it and then dropped the bar a few times. Progress baby! The rope I am using seemed a little heavy and I really would like to learn to do Double Unders sooner than latter. I guess I will be adding more points to my credit card-LOL!

Today I printed out what must of been close to a 100 pages for my OPT classes I am doing. It is going to be a lot of studying, practicing, learning, and letting it soak in. I am one of these people that I will take all the classes and then go back and study, read, make flashcards, and read and learn more and more. The more I learn lately the more I want to know. On top of all the great learning I am also learning how to set up a business. Thankfully I had some money I was able to pull out of a fund and then my dad is investing in my new venture too. The heart of the business is Life Coaching with a Health/Fitness core. Between teaching and working with students on their goals school/non-school related I also have been practicing on myself by reaching my own goals in fitness and health. I am so thankful for my awesome coach who has really inspired me with his knowledge and helping me become better each session. I hope one day when I am older I can be as knowledgable as he is. I am kind of getting a late start, but it is better to pursue what drives you then have regrets right?!

Happy WOD’ing!
