This morning I hiked Pinnacle Peak trail with SICFIT Scottsdale. As I watched the group run up the mountain ahead of me I realized this year for me is more about the fitness side of my journey. Last year most of my time was focused on weight loss but this year is about the fitness. I found myself quickly out of breath but just worked on putting one foot in front of the other. About half way to the “gate” back comes a few of the guys running back. The trail was so nice though, not as rocky as Gateway.
Although I only went to marker 80, which was about 1.5 miles on the other side if the mountain, I realized it’s not about the time, it’s about getting out, putting one foot in front of the other and pushing through. I had some pain in my left ankle-still breaking in those artificial ligaments and screws. I know each week I will get stronger, faster, and make each hike better than the next.
